For those that seek an active leisure experience, Stowe is a sprawling playground. As we move deeper into Spring, here are some of our F-U-N favorites for families.
Hole in Fun
With the milder weather of April, the Stowe Golf Park season has officially kicked off! Located on the Sun and Ski grounds, this 18-hole adventure is the only putting course in Stowe and is sure to ignite a little healthy competition between family members…play nice, and be sure to refuel at our on-site restaurant, The Eatery, when you’re done!
A Wheel Good Time
With numerous cycling routes including the Stowe Recreation Path and the many trails of Mount Mansfield, options for all levels of biking are plentiful in Stowe. For families that want to maximize outdoor time, biking is a fun and accessible way to get around town and appreciate the vivid nature of Stowe up close.
Hoof it Outside
In and around Stowe, the dynamic landscape lends itself to an abundance of hiking trails. Families that enjoy “type-two fun” may want to tackle steeper terrain and be rewarded with an expansive vista, while other adventurers may enjoy the moderate push of a trail such as Bingham Falls (above), in nearby Smuggler’s Notch State Park. Play in the Pool
Spring weather can still be unpredictable and chilly, but splashing around in the heated waters of our indoor pool is the perfect antidote. After a day outside, this is an ideal place to relax with the kids and regroup.
Let The Good Times Roll
Located on the Sun and Ski grounds, Stowe Bowl is our boutique 8-lane bowling alley, and one of the best family activities around. With bumpers to adjust for difficulty and automatic scoring, bowling is truly suitable for anyone that can push a ball!
Tails on Trails
Sun and Ski is a destination for the WHOLE family - four-legged family members are warmly welcome at the Inn and are sure to enjoy joining in on nature escapes. We recommend hitting the river behind the Inn, or a stroll into town on the Stowe Recreation Path. Just remember to plan ahead and crate dogs when leaving them alone in your room.
