When people think about Stowe some may immediately think about winter, snow, and skiing. Which is rightfully so, however we also think summer can be just as adventurous and enjoyable as our winter season. Keep reading to discover why Stowe is in love with summer (and why we think summer loves Stowe right back).

The water is cool, and oh so refreshing.

Between the plentiful swimming spots along the Stowe Recreation Path, Bingham Falls, Moss Glen Falls, the Waterbury Reservoir and our indoor pool, Stowe provides so many options to play in the water. Perhaps you are seeking a little adventure, then head to Bingham Falls, or take the very accessible and short hike out to Moss Glen Falls. The Waterbury Reservoir also has options for renting paddle boards and kayaks through Umiak Outfitters. The reservoir is also a great spot for families to spend an afternoon picnicking and swimming at the beach.

Best views in Stowe, Vermont

There truly is a path for everyone, and in Stowe whether you are hiking or biking this sentiment rings very true.

It’s no secret that the best views can be found at the top of Stowe Pinnacle. However, if you are tight on time, even the shorter trek up to Sunset Rock is also visually and physically rewarding. As far as biking goes, whether you’re traveling with newbies or more advanced riders, the scenic Stowe Recreation Path is a must. Stowe is also home to endless miles of mountain biking. You can search by trail types for all levels and abilities and locations here.

Summer Après Alfresco!

It’s a thing, and it’s definitely a thing in Stowe. After all, your summer vacation should be full of flavor, so we have a great line-up of

recommendations. The von Trapp Brewery and Bierhall offers outdoor seating with a view, and the Alchemist is also welcoming back their outdoor Beer Garden opening on May 26th. Let’s also not forget about the sparkling ciders and the outdoor space at Stowe Cider, as well as the beautiful outdoor bar at Idletyme. If you fancy grapes over hops and ciders, we also recommend a glass of wine and cheese plate at Dedalus Wine Shop. Pssst… They also offer free wine and cheese tastings weekly, get the details here.

We hope June’s blog post is getting you excited for your summer vacation in Stowe, or perhaps you are about to look at a calendar to figure out a good time to visit. See you soon!
