WHAT THE SNOW BRINGS

One of the most dynamic things about Sun & Ski is our proximity to both Stowe Mountain, as well as the gentle bustle of town. Even in years like this one, when snow is so far light on the ground (SNOW UPDATE: A SNOW STORM IS HERE, 4-12 inches of snow coming Feb 22nd-March 8th), Winter in Stowe delivers the best of all worlds - from our property, you can visit downtown Stowe for coffee and be up on the mountain in the same hour. Here’s to the unique joys of the snowy season, and to Stowe keeping us active and charmed throughout the Winter white.

THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN IN VERMONT, AT OUR BACK DOOR

At 4,395 ft, Mount Mansfield is the highest peak in the state. Lucky for us, it is seated right here in Stowe, allowing us easy access to some of the best skiing, hiking, and scenic views around.

LET IT STOWE, LET IT STOWE, LET IT STOWE

In the last ten years, Stowe is estimated to have received an average of 213” of snow per season. Banner years have well overshot this number though! Locals will remember the ‘16-’17 season, when we were graced with a miraculous 330”

SPRING SKIING AT STOWE MOUNTAIN

The Sun & Ski grounds are situated on Stowe Mountain Road, a mere 10 minutes down the way from the ski runs at Stowe Mountain Resort. Fresh trails are being smoothed every day, and March snowfall is expected to deliver a refresh to the season. At this rate, lifts will be running well into April.

SEEING OLD SIGHTS ANEW

While new snow on the mountain brings opportunity for activity and adrenaline, in town it lays a picturesque blanket on historical landmarks, such as The Helen Day memorial Library & Art Center, which presently houses The Current Center for Contemporary Art. For those seeking to experience the art and architecture of a New England Mountain town in Winter, the snowy season in Stowe is not to be missed!

SNOW OUTINGS ON THE PROPERTY

The West Branch of the Little River runs behind our grounds, providing stunning views and miles of easily accessible trails through the woods. As a guest at the Inn, you can skip wrangling the family in the car and step right into an outdoor adventure.

SNOW PLACE LIKE STOWE

Snow has a way of both slowing us down, and making us timely. Any snow sportsman knows the state of the snow is ever evolving, and you need to strike while conditions are right. In this way, Winter allows us to be opportune and in touch with nature. Snow also allows us - when not shredding down a mountain - to ease our pace and notice the beauty of our surroundings. Under cover of white, Stowe is as vibrant as ever.
