Stowe’s Coffee Culture is Robust…a
Who would have thought that the little town of Stowe, Vermont would have such a robust(a) 😉 coffee game? Our region is most known for maple syrup and Ben & Jerry’s, but take a closer look and a coffee lover will find a variety to match their taste buds.
One of the most well-known coffee brands is Green Mountain Coffee Roasters — now officially Keurig, the name held by the coffee machine that has made them nationally famous and now likely finds a place on your kitchen counter. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters started in 1981 and became one of the early specialty coffee companies. We can serve you a cup at our all-day coffee station in the hotel lobby.
Over the last thirty-five years the specialty and gourmet coffee offerings have expanded throughout Vermont. Aromatic beans can be found in multiple flavors and styles and many of our local coffee shops are devoted carriers of specific Vermont brands. Here is an overview of where to find the perfect cup for that morning pick-me up.
Black Cap Coffee was founded in 2010. The founders roasted their own coffee in a back room of the shop, later becoming its own coffee roasting company called Brave Coffee and Tea Co. Black Cap Coffee has been under new ownership since 2013 but the shop continues to serve Brave Coffee in multiple varieties. Black Cap Coffee recently underwent a beautiful remodel and offers a great place for a break while exploring Stowe’s historic main street.

Katrina’s vision was to create a place for joy, love and connection at the heart of the Stowe community. Locals will attest that it has become just that. PK Coffee serves Counter Culture Coffee and while not a Vermont coffee roaster, Counter Culture’s commitment to quality, sustainability and social issues fits right in with the Vermont experience.
