Stowe Re-imagines Outside Events
The spirit and personality of Stowe is cultivated by our annual events, festivals, races and the guests these signature weekends attract. Our 2020 calendar looks a little different than you may remember from years past. The silver lining to this temporary new normal? A few less visitors and a whole lot more space this summer and fall as we celebrate family, fun and everything that connects us to this special place we all call home with our re-imagined Thursday to Sunday outdoor events. Follow along and let us take a closer look at all the best Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in September and pastoral Stowe have to offer.
Thursdays: Stowe Vibrancy Food in the Field
Stowe Vibrancy in partnership with Pinnacle Ski & Sports is pleased to present Food in the Field each Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. (weather permitting) at the corner of Cape Cod Road and Mountain Road through September 17. Stowe Vibrancy’s renowned Art on Park Series has evolved into an open-air Food in the Field Thursday night market series for 2020 in a town-wide effort to support businesses and artists from around the Green Mountain State. The market offers fresh, delicious, local fare from Vermont artisans and vendors with weekly updates speaking to those participating found on the Stowe Vibrancy Facebook and Instagram feed.
Fridays: Spruce Peak Movies on the Green
Spruce Peak is pleased to continue the tradition of converting their Village Green into an outdoor theater, with everyone’s family-favorite & family-friendly screenings such as The Goonies, Field of Dreams, Monsters Inc., Grease, Moana, The Lion King, E.T., and other time-honored classics, showing at 8:15 p.m. each Friday through September 11–and all you need to bring is your favorite blanket as local craft brews or an authentic Vermont Creemee can be paired with elevated Vermont BBQ or mountain-inspired Tex-Mex fare. The Village Green at Spruce Peak is located at 7412 Mountain Road—just look for families having an exceptional evening with friends and loved ones…
Saturdays: Main Street Live
In partnership with Butler House, Stowe Public House and Stowe Sweets, Stowe Vibrancy presents its latest series of free concerts. Enjoy Jazz Trio Asbell, Schmeeckle and Hill as you indulge in take-out and a picnic-style dinner from one of Stowe’s many wonderful, award-winning restaurants, such as Cork, Plate, Harrison’s Restaurant, Doc Ponds, The Bench and countless others while relaxing on the greens of downtown historic Stowe village. This lively musical event takes place each Saturday night from 5 to 8 p.m. through September 12 and must be experienced as all three musicians are mainstays in the Vermont jazz scene and are each nationally acclaimed.
Sundays: Stowe Farmers’ Market
Nestled between The Blue Donkey and the Red Barn Shops at 1799 Mountain Road is Vermont’s finest farmers’ market, and with the Green Mountain State leading the nation in farmer’s markets, organic producers, CSA’s and dollars spent on local foods per capita, the Stowe Farmer’s Market is proud to offer the best of Vermont. Each Sunday in September from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, you will be able to select from an incredible assortment of local fresh vegetables, meats, cheese, milk, berries, maple syrup, bread and baked goods, pickles, flowers, herbal products, mushrooms, thirst quenching beverages, and spirits along with prepared food vendors and crafters.
