Events and Happenings during the month of December

Stowe, Vermont is truly magical during the holidays. Over the next several weeks there are many activities, celebrations, and holiday events that will fill people of all ages with cheer!

For Kids and Families, and Everyone in-between!

Handmade Candy Cane demonstrations at Laughing Moon Chocolates – This family-oriented event takes place at the Laughing Moon store on South Main Street in Stowe Village! Demonstrations are at 11 AM each Friday, Saturday and Sunday between November 23rd and December 23rd. With an additional demonstration at 2 PM on Saturdays. Demonstrations are on a first-come, first-served basis and are $6 per person to make your own candy cane, or free to watch!

Santa Claus at Cold Hollow Cider Mill – Just down the road in Waterbury is Cold Hollow Cider Mill, a popular spot for families! Santa will be there on Saturday, December 15 from 11 AM to 2 PM. Say hi to Santa and then stay a while to peruse the shop which is brimming with unique and local holiday gifts and treats.

Stowe Messiah Sing – December 17 at 7 PM at the Stowe Community Church is Stowe’s annual Messiah Sing. Come and hear this classic holiday music! Audience members are encouraged to join in and sing the familiar Christmas choruses. Admission is $8 for adults and doors open at 6:30 PM.

Skate with Santa at the Stowe Arena – Saturday December 15th and December 22 3:30-5 PM, combine this favorite winter pastime with Jolly Old St. Nick!

Live Music at Stowe Bowl! – Just in time for Christmas and New Year’s! Join us in our boutique bowling alley for festive live music from 6:30-8:30 PM on Sunday 12/23 and from 5:30-7:30 PM on Thursday 12/27. Taryn Noelle and Michael Hartigan visit some of the best-loved tunes from the Great American Songbook and some Winter and Holiday favorites! While you’re with us, bowl a few frames, enjoy dinner at the eatery, or have a cocktail and some tasty appetizers at the bar!

Warren Miller’s Face of Winter at Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center – Watch the latest installment of the movies that capture the magic and creativity of skiing. Pro athletes and amazing locations combine to produce a show for snow enthusiasts! December 27th from 7-9 PM.

New Year’s Eve at Stowe Bowl – Ring in the New Year with us at Stowe Bowl! We offer a full night of entertainment, fun, and food for all ages at our in-house bowling alley and lounge. This event is open to guests of Sun & Ski Inn and to the public, but reservations are required. Reservations include: bowling, shoe rentals, party favors, a selection of snacks on your table, and a champagne toast (or sparkling cider for the young ‘uns)!
